Three sneeze proof strategies to reduce dust in your home

Spring is here and so is allergy season for many. If you are like most people, dust is a part of life. Regardless of how much we clean, it still has a way of popping up when you least expect it. In addition, dust can also aggravate allergies giving us something to sneeze about. Don't fret; you can reduce dust in your home with a little know how. pollen

Running a tight ship

Dust comes from many places, including the outdoors.  If you really want to reduce the dust in your home, keep your windows and doors closed. If you have an air conditioner, use it to keep your house cool rather than opening up windows. Fresh air may smell good, but it could be bringing much more into your home than meets the eye.

Cleaning your vents

You can help to significantly reduce the dust in your home by having your air ducts and vents cleaned yearly and changing the filter in your furnace regularly. In addition, using portable air cleaners in each room can also help to filter out some allergens, and dust that may cause the sniffles.

Stepping on it

Carpeting is the perfect haven for dust. If you have carpeting in your home, you can do one of two things to reduce dust. First ,vacuum regularly to remove the dust and other dirt buildup that may be hiding on your floors. Your second option to consider is eventually switching to a different type of flooring such as hardwood, or tile for a sneeze proof home.
